Outlook Express
Instructions for sending plain text mail and/or turning off HTML in Outlook Express
There are two ways you can set up Outlook Express to send plain text messages.
1. - For specific addresses (such as a mailing list)
- Add the address to your address book.
- Go to Tools
Address Book.
- Right-click the address you added.
- Go to Properties
Name tab
Check Send E-Mail using plain text only
Click OK.
2. - To send plain
text messages to everyone.
- Go to Tools
Options
Send tab.
- Under the Mail Sending Format click *Plain Text*
Click OK.
- Go to Properties
Name tab
Check Send E-Mail using plain text only
Click OK.
Outlook Express for Macintosh
- Go to Edit
Preferences.
- If the triangle next to *Outlook Express* is not pointing down click once to change it.
- Go to Outlook Express heading
Message Composition
- Under the Mail Sending Format click *Plain Text*
Click OK.
- Make sure that "Uuencode" is elected next to *Attachment sending*.
