Instructions for sending plain text mail and/or turning off HTML in Microsoft Outlook

Outlook 2000

  1. Go to Tools small arrow Options small arrow Mail Format tab.
  2. Select Plain Text in the pull-down menu in Message Format small arrow click OK
PLEASE NOTE:
Outlook 98 (Internet Version)
  1. Go to Tools small arrow Options small arrow Mail Format tab.
  2. For Mail Formatting, select Plain Text from the drop-down box small arrow click OK.
Outlook 98 (Work Group)
  1. Go to Tools small arrow Options Mail Format tab.
  2. Select Plain Text In the Send in this message format area, select Plain Text from the drop-down box small arrow click OK.
Outlook 97 (with Service Release 1 SR1)
  1. Go to Tools small arrow Options small arrow Internet E-mail tab.
  2. Select MIME not UUENCODE.
  3. Uncheck the check box Allow eight-bit characters in headers.
  4. Check the Line wrap small arrow Set to 72.
  5. Make sure you use the US ASCII character set small arrow click OK.
