Instructions for sending plain text mail and/or turning off HTML in Hotmail

  1. Go to Compose small arrow Type in address and complete the subject line.
  2. Before composing the message go to Tools.
  3. In the Tools Menu check that the Rich Text Editor is ON. If it's OFF click to switch ON.
PLEASE NOTE:

If you see the formatting tool bar that includes such options as bolding, paint cans, etc. you are not sending the mail as plain text.

Go to the "Tools" menu and click on "Rich-text editor OFF" this will switch it to plain text mode and the tool bar will disappear.
